About Us
The Uganda Heart Association (UHA) is a non-profit, non-political organization committed to the prevention and control of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) in Uganda. It was established in 2006 with the objective of bringing together cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, researchers, and partners committed to advancing high-quality, equitable cardiovascular care.
UHA plays a central role in
strengthening cardiovascular health through professional education, research,
guideline development, policy advocacy, and public engagement. The Association
promotes evidence-based practice, supports capacity building across all levels
of the health system, and fosters collaboration to translate scientific
evidence into real-world impact.
As a trusted technical voice,
UHA works closely with Governmental health institutions, academic institutions,
civil society, and regional and global partners to shape cardiovascular policy,
improve access to care, and address emerging and long-standing heart health
challenges, including non-communicable diseases and conditions of public health
importance.
Through leadership,
innovation, and advocacy, the Uganda Heart Association is committed to
improving cardiovascular outcomes and advancing heart health for all people in
Uganda and the region.
